Sanford Kreger (1934–2018)

A noncommercial photographer and collagist, Sandy grew up and was educated in New York City. He showed at the Witkin Gallery in the late sixties, and then left to travel in Europe. When he returned, the gallery had closed, and Sandy relocated to western Massachusetts.

He did not have the personality to market his work, but he is a part of both private and public collections in this country and in Europe. He was self-taught in photography.

Recently, a book of his photographs, The City in the ‘60s, has been published by Editions East, and is available to any interested parties. It is a glimpse into recent history.
